Tue 3rd Apr 2007 Add comment

Prince Rupert, B.C. -  The Salvation Army has been here for 97 years and has had 63 sets of officers assigned to the corps. Presently, Captains Gary and Nancy Sheils are the longest serving officers.

Local programs offered by The Salvation Army include the food bank, the soup kichen, a men's emergency shelter program and a thrift store. Sheils says," Seeing people's lives change. Seeing people who recognize the need in their life for some changes is why we do what we do."
