In his introductory remarks to the crowd gathered on Friday June 22, 2007, Councilor Tom McGregor indicated that things are looking up in Wallaceburg!
The Salvation Army is proud to be part of the exciting progress in that community as they officially open their newly consolidated thrift store and family services operations.
Mayor Randy Hope also brought greetings on the occasion thanking the Army for their vision and contribution to the community. According to Paul Stratton, business manager, Salvation Army Chatham-Kent Ministries, having all ministries under one roof in this new facility will allow for the sharing of staff and volunteers as well as client access to all services on one site.
There is also room for future expansion in the new building. Other local dignitaries joined Major Alf Richardson, divisional commander and Majors Scott & Michelle Rideout, corps officers, as they shared in the celebrations and refreshments that were served following the ribbon cutting ceremony.
