Prince George, B.C. - This past weekend The Salvation Army in Prince George launched a mobile food service to bring hot food and drinks to neighbourhoods around the city.
The service operates on Saturdays and Sundays and makes stops in four locations. "We're not going into the downtown area," says Envoy Bruce Kirk, pastor. "We're going into neighbourhoods and in locations where people might have a difficult time time accessing transportation or getting to our current location."
Presently The Salvation Army provides daily bread and food service to 120 people daily. Hampers provide three days worth of food to about 20 families and three sit-down meals a week are served to about 175 people per sitting.
