St. John's, NF - The Wiseman Centre project, a safe shelter with appropriate supports for older men in the St. John's area, was officially opened yesterday.

Mr. Fabian Manning, Member of Parliament for Avalon, on behalf of the Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, participated in the opening of the 30-unit transitional housing project.

Also participating were The Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment and Minister responsible for Newfoundland and Labrador Housing, the Honourable Shawn Skinner, and St. John's Mayor, Andy Wells and Major Ray Rowe, divisional commander.
