Last Wednesday, a severe rainstorm hit Vancouver Island and surrounding areas. Mudslides into the North Shore reservoirs resulted in discoloured water. Close to one million people were unable to use their tap water.

Captain John Murray, divisional secretary for public relations & development, arranged for 48,000 bottles of water (donated by the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families) to be distributed through the Salvation Army's shelters.
