Kitchener, Ont.- Tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 20, The Salvation Army opens their second thrift store in Kitchener. Mayor Carl Zehr will lead the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The new thrift store will supply growing families affordable, great quality merchandise.
Over 100 years ago The Salvation Army founded the Household Salvage Brigade; the first thrift store of its kind, recycling clothing, toys, and household items to raise funds for the charity.
Today, the thrift stores also divert millions of pounds of valuable commodities from landfills each year, helping to protect our environment.
