Cranbrook, B.C. - At last count 79 lunches were being delivered to different schools in Cranbrook. If teachers see children who, on a regular basis don't have lunches and appear to be hungry, they let their office know and the school calls The Salvation Army. The lunches are prepared and delivered each day.
The program has a cook and two volunteers every day making the lunches in the kitchen and one or two drivers take the lunches around town.
Children's hunger has many symptoms that can take away from their ability to learn, including stomach pain, headaches, anger and anxiety.
