New Waterford, NS - It was a sad payback for a teenager donating his time to charity. During an attempted cell phone robbery while manning a kettle the 16-year-old was shot four times in the face with a pellet gun.

The suspect held the gun two to three inches from the youth's head yelling "I'm going to kill you!" The terrified youth thought the gun was real and it was determined later that it was a pellet gun.

The Salvation Army has 42 volunteers manning kettles in three locations in the community. This is the first time they have had a serious incident.
