Running Sober Campaign Brings Awareness To The Salvation Army

Maritimes - It's Oct 17 and Rick MacDonald, a former addict, has been running for four days to bring awareness to The Salvation Army. He has run 32 to 34 km per day and finished Tuesday night at North River, 10 km the other side of Truro.

Rick has spoken at four engagements since Saturday and is speaking at Immanuel Baptist in Truro tonight. He is also speaking in Lower Sackville and Dartmouth this week. Along the way he has spoken to individuals about addiction recovery, been stopped on the road to talk and recognized in the drug store.

Rick is in good spirits, He is sleeping well, and enjoying the fresh air, fall colours, and peace of running through the country. He enjoyed his Sunday run near Pugwash so much that he felt it was one of the best days of his life.
