Volunteer Darren Wiseman hits the streets of Saint John, N.B on the coldest nights looking for people like the man he found sleeping near an ATM last week.
Darren works with The Salvation Army and a program called Operation Jack Frost, which gives sleeping bags, hats, gloves and blankets to those sleeping in the cold.
"We give them what they need to survive for the night," says Wiseman.
Volunteers can sometimes convince people to go to a shelter, like The Salvation Army men's shelter, home to almost 80 homeless men. Even when the shelter is full, like now, no one is turned away.
