Saskatoon - Less fortunate families will get an extra special treat in their Christmas hampers this year.
The Saskatoon shoe company DAWGS has donated 6,000 pairs of the popular shoe to The Salvation Army's annual Christmas campaign.
"The cost of these shoes runs between $20 and $40 and for families that can't afford those shoes, I think it's a wonderful gift to them," says Cpt Ed Dean of The Salvation Army.
Dean said there were so many shoes donated that some have been sent to the organization's offices in Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale, Prince Albert and Regina.
