Saskatoon - This winter 100 families will have warmer homes with the SaskEnergy Share the Warmth Home Energy Efficiency Project launched recently.
SaskEnergy, the Salvation Army and SIAST volunteers grouped together to impoved the energy efficiency in the homes of Saskatoon families.
The project will allow participating families to benefit from about $200 worth of home improvements such as preparing windows and doors for winter, replacing furnace filters and installing gaskets around light switches and plug-ins.
The project will reach 12 communities in the province. Local Salvation Army centres have been responsible for selecting the beneficiaries. The target is to help 2,500 homeowners over the next five years.
