Once again The Salvation Army is very pleased to partner with Sleep Country Canada and Kidsfest Canada. This year we will have a radio public service announcement (PSA) recorded and aired along with the 10 sec tags that highlight this much needed and worthy cause. The PSA’s will highlight the Backpack Campaign and the wonderful work of The Salvation Army.

The campaign is intended to support students who do not have the resources to purchase the educational supplies they need for classroom success. Even in today’s high-tech world these supplies, ranging from pens and pencils to binders and workbooks, are essential. Unfortunately, they are often beyond the means of families with limited resources. In some cities, the demand for these supplies is as high as three in 10 students, most of whom are at the elementary school level. Without proper tools, these children can find it difficult to complete the schoolwork that will shape both their own future success and the educational health of the community.
