Edmonton West rotary club helps women with addictions

Sun 18th Jun 2006 Add comment

The Rotary Club of Edmonton West donated a 15-passenger vehicle to The Salvation Army's Addictions and Residential Centre (ARC) in Edmonton.

"This vehicle was urgently needed, and will be put into action immediately," stated Major Wilf Harbin. "This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Rotarian Ron Hutchinson, and the generous support of John Blimke of Driving Force."

This vehicle will be used primarily with The Salvation Army's Women's addiction and aftercare program, bringing the women to treatment sessions. Also, it will provide transport to the women and their children who have completed their recovery program, and are now attending counseling on relapse prevention, exit planning, life skills training, community re-integration and the implementation of a follow-up support system.
