London, Ont. - A charitable arm of a financial giant, Citigroup Foundation, is giving The Salvation Army in London a grant to help reduce dependency on its services by the homeless.
The money is for The Salvation Army to start a financial managment program at its Centre of Hope. The program is to open at the end of February, teaching basic budgeting skills to people facing homelessness.
The six-week program will teach a range of lessons from writing personal cheques to creating a long-term budget. Those who complete it will receive a certificate to mark their training.
