On Wednesday, May 16, Toronto Blue Jay fans celebrated the ongoing work of The Salvation Army.
Commissioner M. Christine MacMillan, territorial commander of The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory, threw out the Ceremonial First Pitch.
Commissioner MacMillan extended a special thank you to Blue Jays President & CEO Paul Godfrey who has represented the Salvation Army as a National Spokesperson for the past six years and continues to work hard for the Salvation Army in that role.
The Salvation Army works in 400 communities across the country to combat the effects of poverty. Each year, The Salvation Army provides 1/3 of the all shelter beds in Canada, assists over 10,000 people with chronic addictions and serves 2.5 million meals to the hungry. In total, 1.5 million people receive their compassionate care and support.
