As we approach the end of the fiscal year the World Services funds, money which enables the Canada and Bermuda Territory to support project development work internationally, has fallen short of the $1.3 million target. While programs and services for vulnerable Canadians continue, The Canadian Salvation Army has an ongoing responsibility to provide financial support for its International Development projects.
Throughout the month of February the Public Relations department will be highlighting our international projects and providing an opportunity for interested donors to donate directly to the "While Women Weep" campaign.
The campaign will focus on a variety of projects that we are currently involved in, particularly projects that are making a difference in the lives of women. This campaign will be featured on www.salvationarmy.ca, advertised on the radio and followed up with an e-appeal to specific donors.
The "While Women Weep" campaign will be a focused fund raising campaign throughout the month of February ending in early march to coincide with the United Nations International Women's Day on March 8th.
We are grateful for your support of this campaign and ask that you encourage the promotion of the campaign within your division and department.
With appreciation.
