The Ottawa Salvation Army presented the 21st Annual Festival of Carols on Sunday, December 10th at Centrepointe Theatre, where nearly 2000 people enjoyed two sold out shows.

The concert, themed “Rejoice and Celebrate”, featured performances by a massed band and choir, comprised of band and Songster members from both the Ottawa Citadel and Woodroffe Community Churches.

Special guests, The Canterbury High School Chamber Chorus performed four selections, highlighted by an acapella number: Christmas Angel. Woodroffe Temple's children’s choir “Shout to the Lord” stole the show with two numbers that left the audience cheering. Performances by massed band, massed chorus, and Christmas carol sing-a-longs were again highlights of this years show.

Master of Ceremonies, Mjr Floyd Tidd, Corps Ministries Secretary, THQ,  won the audience over as they participated in a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas and Mjr Kathryn Trim, CO Ottawa Citadel, captivated the crowd with her drama presentation surrounding the birth of Christ.
Tickets to the annual concert are provided at no cost to the community as a thank you for their support of The Salvation Army throughout the year.
