Majors Woody and Sharon Hale (Ret.) recently returned from a special mission to the Caribbean Territory. They assisted the divisional commander for Barbados & St Lucia division, Lieut-Colonel Clinton Burrowes, in setting up a Capital Campaign to raise one miiion dollars for a new feeding centre and hostel in Bridgetown. The Hales are former divisional leaders for Barbados and St Lucia who commenced the project while stationed there.
The Canadian High Commission has taken great interest in the project and an important meeting took place with Mr Michael Welsh, the Canadian High Commissioner for the Eastern Caribbean.
While in the territory, they conducted several meetings and also visited St Lucia. In the Castries Corps St Lucia they presented a side drum to the corps officers, on behalf of the Oshawa Temple YP Band.
