Celebration OneTwoFive kicks off

celebration125dsc0560.jpgYesterday, Territorial Headquarters kicked off Celebration 125. God's work in and through The Salvation Army has taken place in Canada and Bermuda for the past 125 years. Official celebrations will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, June 15-17, 2007. Click here for more information.

Commissioner William Francis, international secretary for the Americas and Caribbean Zone, IHQ, reminded the staff and officers that it has been and continues to be God's work as The Salvation Army proceeds with its mission and vision.

The following is a LITANY ON LIVING THE VISION that can be used in your corps or ministry unit as we embark on a new year.

LDR: As God’s people, we acknowledge His faithfulness to us

ALL: At the beginning of this New Year, we thank God for the past and seek His vision for the future as the ‘story’ of our territory unfolds

Women: We envision a discipled people becoming like Jesus, immersed in God’s word and obedient in prayer

ALL: Lord encourage us

Men: We envision a multicultural Salvation Army, nurturing understanding and respecting differences

Women: We envision an integrated ministry without borders

Men: We envision congregations with developing leaders who model their lives after Christ

ALL: Lord inspire us

Women: We envision a visible Salvation Army, motivated by God’s heart for the world

Men: We envision God’s people to be Christ-like, a holy people

Women: We envision an Army of collaboration and cooperation, shaping our journey together

Men: We envision an Army that goes beyond its borders to every corner of the globe, celebrating our rich heritage of internationalism

ALL: Lord, for your kingdom’s sake, enable us. Amen
