Ontario Central-East Division- Volunteers with The Salvation Army Immigrant & Refugee Services made it possible for ESL classes to continue through July and August.
One volunteer also took students on a tour of her workplace, Queen's Park, and two field trips were held. One, a guided tour of City Hall was followed by noon hour entertainment in Nathan Phillips Square and a scond trip was to Toronto Island for a picnic, frisbee throwing and a long walk to Ward's Island.
Relationships were built and continuity was provided to students. Visit www.salvos.com/irstoronto to see all the exciting things IRS is doing for newcomers to Canada.
