Promotion to Glory of Major Albert Clifton

Fri 2nd Jun 2006 Add comment

The Territorial Commander would like to share with you the information relating to the promotion to glory of General Shaw Clifton's father.

We extend to our General our assurance of deep sympathy and prayer support in connection with the promotion to Glory yesterday, of his father, Major Albert Clifton.

The General and Commissioner Helen Clifton had the blessing of being able to spend some furlough time with the major during the past week, and we thank God for allowing them that special privilege. Major Clifton celebrated his 90th birthday last Wednesday.

The General will conduct the funeral service in the Ilminster Parish Church on Tuesday 6 June, followed by cremation at the Yeovil Crematorium at 2.00 p.m.

As we surround the General and his family with our prayers during these days as they mourn the loss of a loved family member, we also rejoice with them as they celebrate the life of a disciple of Jesus who was deeply committed to serving the Lord He loved throughout a lifetime of Salvation Army ministry.

Servant of God - well done!
