The first day of the FIFA world cup was something very special in Nuremberg. At 1:30 p.m. celebrations began with a huge soccer field cake, then the kickoff-caf' opened and a big screen TV showed the German team winning. Our mission team is enjoying wonderful fellowship with employees, clients and guests at the The Salvation Army Social Institution (hostel) in Nuremberg where they are residing.

This was the commissioning of new officers in Basle, Switzerland. The Canadian service team took part and had a beautiful day with good fellowship. New relationships have been established, older contacts been renewed. Some minutes before midnight they safely returned to N'rnberg - tired but happy...

'Jesus knows us and our need - and he responds to it.' That was the subject of the Sunday morning service in which the service team took part. People from the institution and the corps celebrated together and felt the presence of the Lord.
After the match the service team (together with Majors Andersson from Cologne) went to town and experienced a wonderful and friendly atmosphere there.
To get a feeling for the match Mexico - Iran (in Nuremberg), the service team had an interesting information afternoon about Mexico with Condia Hellmich. She spent two years in that country.

Monday was reserved for contacts between service team and clients. The team ladies spent the afternoon in the "FrauenZimmer", a shelter for women in need. At about 5 p.m. a photographer from the main Nuremberg newspaper came - the picture shows what he saw...
