Kings Singers to Perform in London

Wed 22nd Oct 2008 Add comment
The London Citadel Band of The Salvation Army is pleased to present world renowned The King’s Singers in a Christmas concert at 8:00 pm November 29, 2008 in Centennial Hall in London, Ontario. Their last visit to London, Ontario was over 20 years ago.

The London (England) Times says it best: they are “still unmatched for their musicality and sheer ability to entertain.”

Regularly performing in excess of 100 concerts every year around the world, The King’s Singers delight audiences with their incomparable musicianship, charm and wit. This outstanding group of six gentlemen is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is “counted among the world’s elite classical performers”.

Today, the ensemble remains one of the world's most popular and sought-after vocal groups.

The name of the group comes from the fact that several of the founding members were vocal scholars at King’s College Cambridge. Their repertoire encompasses music of all genres, from medieval to renaissance, lieder to folk and pop to jazz. They have performed in most of the world’s major concerts halls with a wide variety of orchestras and other distinguished soloists and have released more than 100 recordings. They regularly travel worldwide for their performances, appearing in around 125 concerts each year, mostly in Europe, the U.S. and the Far East, having recently added the People's Republic of China to their list of touring territories.

The London Citadel Band is very pleased to be able to present several items during the evening as well.

Tickets ($40 + $25) are available through the Centennial Hall Box Office – 550 Wellington Street or by telephone 519-672-1967 or online www.centennialhall.london.ca

We look forward to this rare vocal treat at Centennial Hall on November 29.
