War College Board of Reference Adds Brass

Vancouver, B.C - The War College is pleased to announce the addition of General John Gowans and Colonel Earl Robinson to the Board of Reference. They join General Eva Burrows, General Shaw Clifton, Commissioner Phil Needham, Commissioner Wesley Harris, Colonel Don Copple, Chick Yuill, Stacey Campbell, Wesley Campbell, and Dr. David Demian in providing spiritual cover and counsel to the campuses of The War College

General John Gowans
Retired General John Gowans led The Salvation Army worldwide, 1999-2002. Famous for his oration and poetry, Gowans teamed with General John Larsson on ten full-length musicals used around the world to great soul-saving ends. He has also authored four books, including the series O, LORD! and the autobiography, THERE'S A BOY HERE. He led three territories (France, Australia Eastern, UK) and also served in the USA.

Colonel Earl Robinson
Colonel Robinson was the chair of The Salvation Army's International Doctrine Council that, since 1998, has co-authored Salvation Story, Salvation Story Study Guide and Servants Together. From 1997 to 2005 he served on The Salvation Army International Headquarters as Secretary for International External Relations and from 2000 to 2005 as Secretary for Spiritual Life Development.

He has served in the Army in Canada as a corps officer (pastor), on the Toronto College for Officers' Training, in headquarters appointments, and for 12 years at the William & Catherine Booth College in Winnipeg as its founding president and professor of theology and ministries. He also currently serves on British Columbia Divisional Headquarters as the Pastoral Care Coordinator for active Salvation Army officers in the division. Earl has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Divinity from Pine Hill Divinity Hall in Halifax, a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Manitoba, a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) from the William & Catherine Booth College.

These seasoned veterans will add wise counsel to the expansionist plans of The War College leading into the September 2007 INCENDIARY SESSION
