Nipawin, Sask. - Cpt Melodie Routly recently experienced a three-week trip to Bangladesh as part of the Partners in Mission Program. She went to places of hardship, such as legalized brothels where the women work to pay off a debt equal to $50US. "Most of the girls are there to support their families and they thought this is a way they could do it," she says. "Its a horrible life because most of them will have 20 to 25 customers a day."
One way The Salvation Army is helping the less fortunate of Bangladesh is through the Sally Ann program. The Sally Ann ships items from Bangladesh to sell in Sweden and Norway.
