MissionFest Toronto 2007

Takes place March 1 to 3 at the Toronto Congress Centre. “God is calling YOU right where you are.”

This year marks the 12th anniversary of MissionFest Toronto 2007 with its theme, “We Speak to Nations”. Come and be encouraged, educated and enlightened about what God is doing in Canada and around the world.  You may discover God’s call for your life!

MissionFest Toronto is the largest mission conference in central Canada with over 20,000 in attendance, 200 local and international exhibitors, 40 dynamic seminars, and programs for children, youth, women, singles, pastors, leaders, artists, families plus those working in the corporate marketplace.  Admission is FREE except for selected special events.

MissionFest is pleased to welcome keynote speakers, Dr. Ravi Zacharias, Aileen Coleman, Henry Blackaby, Dr. Pat Francis and Franklin Graham.

HIGHLIGHTS

Thursday, March 1

5:00 p.m. - Exhibit Hall opens to the public featuring missions agencies and Christian based organizations: Arab World Ministries, Bridges for Peace, Christian Motorcyclists Association, Gospel for Asia, The Miracle Channel, Mission of Mercy, Tyndale University College & Seminary, Mitchell Family Books, Yonge Street Mission and many more.

7:30 p.m. - The conference kicks off with a free Plenary session sponsored by World Vision featuring Dr. Ravi Zacharias, president of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.  His weekly radio program, “Let My People Think,” is broadcast to over 1500 stations worldwide.  Special opening performance by Watoto Children’s Choir. Dr. Zacharias will also be speaking on Saturday March 3rd at 1:00pm with special performance by Geoff Moore
in Hall E, Toronto Congress Centre.  All Plenary sessions are held in Hall E.

9:00 p.m. - 24/7 prayer. Join worship and prayer teams from across the GTA as they cry out to God night and day for the nations of the world during MissionFest.

Friday, March 2

8:30 a.m. - MissionFest launches its first Pastors’ and Leaders’ Conference “Speaking with One Voice” sponsored by FaithLife Financial, and held in the G.Pinsent Rooms from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pastors and leaders are invited to come and be inspired by dynamic guest speakers, Dr. Henry Blackaby, Don Posterski (World Vision International), Dr. Glendon Thompson (Toronto Baptist Seminary), Dr. Brian Stiller (Tyndale University College & Seminary) and Moderator, Lorna Dueck from Listen Up TV, including a Special luncheon with Dr. Ravi Zacharias. 9:00 a.m. - Children’s Mission Adventure Morning is a school field trip for children grades 5 to 8 who will visit three different mission ‘stations’ for an interactive learning experience.

2:30 - 4:00 p.m. - FREE seminars in the A. Waxman Rooms focused on equipping believers with the knowledge and hands-on training necessary to make a positive difference in today’s world.

7:00 p.m. -  Exciting simulated missions trips to India and Africa in the Friday and Saturday Children’s Program, held in the D. Sutherland Rooms.  This program will serve to engage children in caring for others, helping others as we encourage them to make a difference. [Saturday children’s program at 9:30am/1:00pm also features special focus on First Nations]

8:00 p.m. - For the Mobilized to Serve Singles Program, the evening begins with participants joining three unique Table Communities where they will have an opportunity to discuss a variety of fun, mission-related questions. Keynote speakers, Ed Clements and Aileen Coleman will challenge and inspire you. Worship artists, His Season with their heart for the lost and their vision for Canada will create a spiritually rich atmosphere for your enjoyment.  Host: Nigel Hunter. [Free admission in the L. Saturday, March 3

9:00 a.m. - Come to a one-day Women’s Forum - Ordinary Women…Extraordinary Call. Keynote speakers include Aileen Coleman, Dr. Pat Francis, Hilary Price and Cathie Ostapchuk. New to the Women’s Forum is ‘Hearing God’s Call’ panel discussion with Wendy Hagar (Sew On Fire), Liz Honeyford (St. Paul’s Leaskdale), Devonne-Dee Green-Miller (Shai Awards), and Carrie Simpson (Women Alive). 9:30 a.m. - a free Master Seminar on India: The Myth of the Closed Doors. Speaker: Dr. Samuel Kamaleson. Special performance by Elizabeth Ann Mathai. Located in G. Pinsent Rooms.

9:30 a.m. - FREE seminars begin in the A. Waxman & P Berton Rooms with focused tracks: Short Term Missions, China Missions, Missions in Arts & Media, Global & National Missions, and Equipping for Missions & Ministry. (see full schedule on www.missionfest.org)

10:00 a.m. - Read for Life keynote session, ‘Pursuing Your Dreams’ with Randy Srochenski (Toronto Argonaut #45). Athletes and artists share insights into their lives and how their relationship with Jesus makes a difference.

11:00 a.m - a free Master Seminar on Africa with Musyoki Muindi, Director of Development and Administration of the Church Mission Society - USA. Special performance by Krystaal. Sponsored by World Vision. Located in G.Pinsent Rooms.

11:00 a.m. - Experience what it is like to be a refugee on the Refugee Highway, a journey you will never forget! [Hall B, booth J-19]

1:00 p.m. - Free Plenary Session with Dr. Ravi Zacharias sponsored by Compassion Canada in Hall E. Worship artist: Geoff Moore.

1:00 p.m. - Free ENGAGE Youth Track “ Extreme Missions” featuring exciting sessions with Anderson Christie (YWAM), musical artist Krystaal, and Carl Nash (Youth Unlimited).

3:30 p.m. - a first ever of its kind FREE concert with Watoto Children’s Choir and Toronto Mass Choir. Located in Hall E.

4:00 p.m. - a free Master Seminar on First Nations with First Nations Chief, Kenny Blacksmith. Kenny is one of the authors of the First Peoples Covenant recently developed and signed by Canadian Aboriginal Leaders.

7:00 p.m. - Franklin Graham will close MissionFest Toronto with an exciting spirit led session you don’t want to miss.  Franklin is the President & CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, well-known for Operations Christmas Child. Admission is FREE. Located in Hall E.

Other notable programs are the Visual Arts in Worship in Exhibit Hall B, and the Performing Arts in Worship in the E. Mirvish Room. MissionFest will be host to many worship artists, such as Matt Tapley, Toronto Mass Choir, Peter Lewis, Treneta Bowden, and dance troupe Worship in Motion.

The 12th annual MissionFest will take place at the Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Rd., just north of the 401, Toronto, Canada from March 1 to 3rd, 2007.  Free Admission. Free Parking.
