Pembroke, Ont. - A number of local celebrities took turns serving food as more than 140 people attended the annual Red Shield Pancake Breakfast. "It was a great success," says Cpt Denise Spurrell, corps officer.
Those serving food included the Pembroke Mayor, Base Commander, Fire Chief and members of the Police Service. Several members of the Canadian Forces were on hand to help serve food and direct trraffic. Other well-known people served as greeters at the door including Pembroke's MPP and members of the advisory council.
Money generated from the breakfast will fund Salvation Army programs at the Pembroke church including the soup kitchen and the food bank.
