Bikers Give Salvation Army A Boost

Wed 26th Sep 2007 1 comment

Langley, B.C. - The second annual Mercy Ride helped raise $2,500 for a future Salvation Army homeless shelter in Langley City. On Saturday, September 18, 43 bikes (several carried an additional rider) road from the Sundel Square headquarters of The Salvation Army, through the streets of Langley to the Royal Canadian Legion Langley branch.

Says event organizer Dwayne Mitchell, president of the King's Riders, "Our association is a ministry group, and this is one way to minister. It is an effective way to spread the gospel without opening your mouth," he said with a smile adding, "Besides, motorcyclists are a fun bunch to hang around with."
