Alberta Family Day is celebrated on the third Monday of February. It is a statutory holiday in Alberta. In Calgary activities were organized around the city and The Salvation Army's Centre of Hope held its second annual family day dinner for the homeless, serving 1,200 meals to the less fortunate.

Alberta Family Day was declared to recognize the values held by the pioneers who built Alberta and the values of home and family.
