The first annual international weekend of prayer and fasting for the victims of human trafficking will be held September 29-October 1, 2006.

As unimaginable as it seems, slavery and bondage still persists in the early 21^st century. Millions of people around the world still suffer in silence in slave-like situations of forced labour and commercial sexual exploitation from which they cannot free themselves. Trafficking in persons is one of the greatest human rights challenges of our time.The vision for this weekend of prayer is for Christians to organize one day in the workplace and one Sunday to focus prayer and intercession on behalf of people who are trafficked, enslaved and exploited.
