huntsville.jpgHuntsville, Ont. - The Salvation Army came to Huntsville in August 1886 under the leadership of Captain Minnie Fisher. They worshipped in a barn-type building.

In 1899 the first hall was built by a soldier of the corps, W.G.L. Hunt. Viola Hunt, daughter, still lives in Huntsville and is a soldier of the corps.

Major Donna Bond's (Division Director of Women's Ministries, Ontario North) grandparents were stationed in Huntsville.

In 1945 the second Huntsville Citadel was built. It was opened by the then corps officers, Captain and Mrs. Reg Hollman.

The third corps citadel was opened in October 1984 at the same location by Colonel and Mrs. Stanley Walter along with Captain and Mrs. David Patterson.

Congratulations, Huntsville, to 120 years of faithful service.
