Last weekend Corner Brook Temple, Newfoundland West and Labrador Division, celebrated 82 years of ministry.
The Corner Brook corps officially opended in 1924 and was an offshoot from the Curling Corps that had taken root in 1912.
The First official Salvation Army meeting was an open-air meeting and held on the spot now occuped by the Millbrook Mall.
The currrent Corner Brook Tempe was built in 1966 and currently boasts membership of more than 1,800 people in the Corner Brook area.
The celebration weekend included and in-house dinner at the Temple on Saturday, which included an update and information session with members of the corps.
